Wir vom Kompetenzzentrum für elektronische Wahlen und
Partizipation (E-Voting.CC) laden erstmals in Europa zur „E-Voting Competition 2008“! Der Wettbewerb findet im Rahmen der dritten Internationalen Konferenz über Electronic Voting in Bregenz, Österreich, statt.

Die Teilnehmer sind aufgerufen, ein Internetwahlsystem zu entwickeln, das den Anforderungen für sichere Internetwahlen entspricht. Es gilt insbesondere, die Grundsätze des allgemeinen, gleichen, geheimen, freien, unmittelbaren und persönlichen Wahlrechts zu erfüllen.

Die besondere Herausforderung ist die Lösung des Problems der eindeutigen Identifizierung der Wähler bei gleichzeitiger Sicherstellung der anonymen Stimmabgabe. Im Wettbewerb wird die optimale Lösung unter den drei Finalisten-Teams ermittelt.

We, the Competence Center for Electronic Voting and Participation (E-Voting.CC), invite you to our “E-Voting Competition 2008” for the first time in Europe!

It will be held during the course of the 3rd International Conference on Electronic Voting in Bregenz, Austria.
The participants are called on to develop a system for internet elections, which complies with the Common Criteria Protection Profile for secure internet elections. It is essential to meet the fundamentals of the general, equal, secret, direct, free and personal rights for elections.

The challenge is solving the problem of distinctly identifying
the elector while securing the anonymity of the vote. The competition will determine which of the three final systems incorporates the optimal solution for the given security criteria.
